You will be creating 3 advertisements:
1.
(invent the perfect product-food, electronic, toy, candy, office supply,
vehicle, cleaner, video game, jewelry, sports equipment etc.)
2.
(invent the perfect place-island, theme park, city, school, etc. Try to entice
people to come to your place through your ad.)
3.
(Create an ad about yourself. What sets you apart from other people?
What do you excel at? What are your hobbies, talents, interests, gifts?)
Use the following criteria when designing your advertisement:
1. Create a slogan/catch phrase for your ad (why should the consumer buy your product?
What is unique about it? What does it have that no other product has? )
2. Your ad should have a specific audience. Who are you marketing your product to?
(Women, men, kids, parents, teens, animals, etc.)
3. Your ad should have a very specific, overall message.
4. Your ad should have an image to help portray the message of the ad. This image
should be drawn by you.
1. Pencil in your design first.
2. Use the same colors throughout your ad. Limit your colors to only 3-4 (limited palette).
3. Your lettering should be refined and exact and use the same colors throughout your ad.
(You may scan your advertisement into Photoshop to add text or different fonts for your
slogan.)
4. Use markers or colored pencils to add color.
5. Edges of design should be outlined to stand out.
6. Your ad should be simple, concise, and unified. Avoid unnecessary clutter.
7. No pencil showing in final ad. The whole ad should be colored in and outlined.
8. The images you draw should look realistic and refined. Use pictures for references to
get necessary detail.
