Oil on Panel 30 1/4X 21 inches. Located in Musee du Louvre, Paris.(Pg. 10 Humanities through The Arts, 10th Ed.) I have been forever been drawn into Mona Lisa’s gaze. Many theories of what her expression means have been made, and yet after years, the mystery persist. It is unknown if Leonardo Da Vinci was commissioned for the portrait, and just decided not to deliver it. Why did this painting mean so much to him, and why does it also mean so much to the world of art. When visiting the museum of Paris, looking at the Mona Lisa is a must. I for one, wanted to try and capture this feeling of mystery in my little quick sketch and tried to see if I could recreate it. All I can say is, Mr. Da Vinci was a genius, because drawing the Mona Lisa was quite a challenge for me. I realize there are many elements of art involved, a lot of technique, precision, and detail. I can only imagine how even more complicated it is to draw this with paint, and really be able to blend the colors nicely. The Mona Lisa reminds me that Mr. Da Vinci left a painting only he has the answers to. Answers that many experts and artists have tried to decipher and speculate about. Never had a portrait had such energy and mystery to it than Leonardo Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa. I really put in the effort to try and recreate this painting as best as I can, and I hope it is of everyone’s liking. Thanks.——————————————-Kayla EarlThe painting I decided to sketch was one of Edward Hopper most Iconic painting in the world, Of course it Early Sunday Morning, Painted in 1930. it an oil painting that is on a 89.4 cm (35.2 in) × 153 cm (60 in) panel, located in the Whitney Museum of American Art .(Pg. 16 Humanities through The Arts, 10th Ed.) I chose this painting because it has caught my attention since I have started this class. The vibrant colors of the building in the early morning. To wonder what made him do this peace of art, to be able to feel his many emotions through this painting. When Hopper decided to paint this he was on one of his morning walk early in the morning where people have not yet to stir. Also to know that every person who comes across this painting has a different feel of it. when I seen the painting I thought of peace and quite while some take it as a time of depression. I like that their is not one way to preserver this art, the fact it catches the reality of the morning but it consider to be iconic is just buzzard to me. Its a painting of a building in New York its just a building that he was passing by. The even better part of it is that there was a person in it but then he decided to paint out that person so that it was just the building its self. .
