In a short (1-2 page) MLA formatted paper, you are to introduce one pop culture piece,
artifact, or practice that appears to preserve or be inspired by some aspect of global theatre
history; you do NOT need to prove that it is consciously inspired by the history, only that it
resembles it in some way or approaches character or performance in a similar way.
You want to spend some time introducing and explaining the aspect of the practice you are
thinking about (3 pts.), how the piece or movement from pop culture plays with or preserves
that aspect (4 pts.), and finally some sense of why that matters or is worthy of further inquiry
(3 pts).

discussion thread by Saturday the 14th at 11:59 PM and please look at as many as you can
before class next week. The paper itself will be due the 25th at 11:59 PM (though if you
submitted it because of the original deadline, it is appreciated).
