Description
Complete problem on screenshot as well as answer the question in the description. Provide a screenshot or type out the steps used to solve the equation on the screenshot. This one is factoring a cubic divded by a linear or quadratic function. Here is my version of the question, I will type x3 to mean x cubed and x2 to mean x squared here:(27×3+45×2-6x-10)/(9×2-2) notice that I have parentheses around the top and bottom, if you don’t type these it is technically incorrect since we need to follow the convention of parentheses being the overall top dog in PEMDAS. looking at the top we can group 27×3 – 6x + 45×2 – 10 then factor each group as 3x(9×2-2) + 5(9×2-2) = (3x+5)(9×2-2)so we get (3x+5)(9×2-2) / (9×2-2) = 3x + 5So the whole idea here is to “reverse FOIL” or otherwise factor a two-term expression from 4 terms, this techinique is referred to as factor by grouping. Some discussion points we can expand on in the threads below:1. Can you find any general applications of factoring? Please don’t forget to solve equation in the screenshot that has been uploaded
