2. A Company plans to advertise its products to its potential customers. Following data have been provided by
the marketing team.
Newspaper
Television
Facebook
YouTube
Cost of an advertising Unit
(30,000 + 𝒂)
Number of potential customers 2,00,000
reached per unit
Number of customers less than 18 years 1,50,000
reached per unit
(20,000 + 𝑏)
(15,000 + 𝒄)
(10,000 + 𝒅)

1,00,000
4,00,000
70,000
50,000
The company is having a budget of (4, 50,000 * 𝒂) rials for advertising. The requirement of the company
are given below:
 The advertisement must reach at least one million Young generation customers (age less than 18
years)
 Advertisement on social media must be limited to 1,50,000 rials.
 Atleast 3 advertising units be bought on Facebook and 2 units on YouTube.
 The number of advertising unit on television and newspaper should each be between 5 and 10.
Formulate a Linear programing model for the problem.
(20 Marks)
(Note: 𝒂, 𝒃, 𝒄 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒅 are non-zero numbers from your Mec ID number from right side.
For example If your MEC id number is 98F76543 then 𝒂 = 𝟑, 𝒃 = 𝟒, 𝒄 = 𝟓, 𝒅 = 𝟔)
3. 𝑀𝑎𝑥𝑖𝑚𝑖𝑠𝑒 𝑍 = 3𝒂𝑥 + 4𝒂𝑦
Subject to the constraints
5𝑥 + 4𝑦 ≤ 200
3𝑥 + 5𝑦 ≤ 150
5𝑥 + 4𝑦 ≥ 100
8𝑥 + 4𝑦 ≥ 80
𝑥, 𝑦 ≥ 0
Solve the above LPP graphically. Draw the constraints and objective function in a graph sheet (use black color
pen to shade the optimal region. Upload the scanned image.)
(20 Marks)
(Note: ‘𝒂’ is the last non zero number in your Mec id number)
4. Solve the following linear programming problem using simplex method:
𝑀𝑎𝑥𝑖𝑚𝑖𝑧𝑒 𝑍 = (𝒂 + 5)𝑥1 + 3(𝒂 + 5)𝑥2 + 12(𝒂 + 5)𝑥3
Subject to the constraints
7𝑥1 + 4𝑥2 + 2𝑥3 ≤ 60
4𝑥1 + 11𝑥2 + 4𝑥3 ≥ 72
2𝑥1 + 4𝑥2 + 19𝑥3 ≤ 100
𝑥1 , 𝑥2 , 𝑥3 ≥ 0
(Note: ‘𝒂’ is the last non zero number in your Mec id number)

5. Create an online survey to collect the following data Age(completed year), Height(cms) and Weight(kgs) at
least for 50 people. List the data collected in a table and share the response link.
(10 Marks)
6. From Your survey consider the age group of 18-22 only and list the top ten heights as your sample data. Does
your data support the assumption that the height of person in the age group of 18-22 is more than 160 cms.
Use the proper statistical tool, frame the hypothesis and comment on the validity of null hypothesis under 5%
level of significance.
