Monmouth University History Obituaries and Death Notices Paper

Description

The purpose of this  to locate and analyze individual obituary/death notices found between 1760-1850, 1851-1900, 1901-1950, 1951-2000, and 2001-to the present. (a total of five notices) You should “briefly” describe each paying particular attention to any ways in which the notices may appear to be similar as well as different to each other. Always remember when analyzing evidence, consider what is not there also. You should also address why you think the notices are written the way they are. What might their style or words indicate about society at the time they were written. Focus your search within the United States. You can select five obituaries from five relatively well known or five average individuals to contrast.  

Simple Citing Instructions:  On the bottom of your paper simple list the name of the deceased individual along with the location where you found the obituary. Example:  John Smith – NewYorkTimes.com (the specific website)
