are writing about how folds and faults form.  You will read about
several kinds of stress this week – you only have to talk about the ones that
form folds or faults (so you don’t have to talk about brittle or ductile
deformation, elastic deformation, etc.). 
When
you write about faults, there are 3 kinds to write about: normal,
reverse (also includes thrust faults) and strike-slip faults.  Be sure you
describe what forces (compressional, shearing or tensional) form those faults.
Don’t
forget to talk about how folds form – there’s only one type of stress that
creates folds.
