George Méliès was a pioneer, really one of the founding experimenters, with what would much later become “Visual Effects (VFX). So important and interesting are his films, he even has a youtube site with over 2100 subscribers some 120 years after he created these masterpieces: Watch one (or more) and give us your impressions. Consider the cultural context at the time the films were made; near or on the turn from the 19th to the 20th century Paris. DIg in. Do some research on what the “mindset” was of a European as they face a new century. Think about the technology compared to the magic we see now in modern VFX, what do you find corny? Enduring? Amazing? Be sure to either post the film in your response or, at the very least, give the title and URL for the film. 350-400 words please
